Asbestos Survey

Asbestos is a dangerous substance that has been shown to cause cancer is a person is exposed to it. If a person thinks that their home or business may contain asbestos they should have an asbestos audio performed before it is too late.

Sample Collecting
A person will collect a small sample of the material they think asbestos. The sample must be doubled bagged in a plastic bag. Any material that was broken should be sealed up so that it does not become airborne. The sample can then be dropped off at a lab for testing. It is best to call the lab ahead of time so they know that a sample is coming to be tested.

Lab Testing
The lab will use the latest equipment to test the sample and determine what it is. They used both polarized light microscopy as well as dispersion staining to determine the origin of the material. The sample will be tested quickly and the testing process is rigorous. The testing staff is accredited by the National Association of Testing Authorities. They are highly trained in this field and use the latest scientific methods to conduct their test. If the sample is found to be asbestos they will contact the owner right away and let them know the results. They can then help the owner make arrangements to have the asbestos removed.
